I am an ordained, non-denominational wedding minister with American Marriage Ministries, legally qualified to marry individuals in the state of California. But more than that, I love a good love story, and have always been touched by the power of love to transform individuals and couples. I've also always appreciated a moving, authentic ceremony. And as a nationally certified American Sign Language interpreter for over 20 years, I've had the honor of interpreting (and witnessing) many cross-cultural weddings from the inside.
My interpreting experience has taught me how to be perceptive yet neutral, to represent the people I'm "speaking for" without injecting my own agenda into the exchange. And my background in theater and performance allows me to bring tone and feeling, not just words, to the ceremony. These elements make me uniquely qualified to perform wedding ceremonies for couples who want to experience an authentic tone in the moment they pledge themselves to each other.
